Evangelion Photos
by Raquel @ Thursday, July 10 2008, in general
As promised yesterday I uploaded photos of some of my Evangelion stuff.

The one up there is a photo of my Eva Unit 01 gashapon taken with only a dark light lamp I have at home on.
You can find the rest of the Eva photos here. Feel free to check the rest of my photos.

GAH! That kit is amazing! :o
It’s the first time I see that one. Any idea what the specific name of it is and where I can find it being sold? (painting excluded of course)

Chances to find something like this are small I’m afraid. It’s a custom build involving 3 different kits plus a home made base. The main kit used is an alpha’s Resin kit (http://www.hlj.com/product/ALP014) which besides requiring painting and assembling (you need to drill and use metal rods to assemble the joints and the resin comes in a yellowish color so painting is essential as well), is pretty much discontinued since 1998.
The best chance to get them is on Japanese ebay, but care is needed since many of these kits are recasts and there are quite a few of those that are of low quality.
With the launch of the new movies there is a good chance that new kits of this type are launched in the near future.
I’m sorry if it was too much of a tease. I knew it is quite hard to get something like this but I found it awesome and wanted to share :| . When I find works like this, I like to simply drool at the photos and admire the work put in them.

Oh well, I’ll also still to drooling as well.
The concept of making custom artwork based on kits, etc. does seem interesting and something I might try sometime. But for now I’ll stick with regular kit assemblage (as I need to remember how to do things) and the very occasional Warhammer 40k miniature painting/assembling.
