Fórum Fantástico 2010: Interview With Peter V. Brett
Fantasy author Peter V. Brett was interviewed during Fórum Fantástico 2010 in Lisbon. He’s known for his novels ‘The Warded Man’ (or ‘The Painted Man’), and ‘The Desert Spear’, publiched here in Portugal by Gailivro’s 1001 Mundos. I’ve read the first novel, and became a fan, so hearing him talk about his work was very nice.
This is the last set of videos. I’ll try writing a post about the event, since I haven’t actually done it, due to much video-posting. I hope you enjoyed these last few posts, and that it encourages those of you who have never been to a Fórum Fantástico, to be there on the next ones.
Fórum Fantástico 2010: Stephen Hunt Interview
British author Stephen Hunt gave an interview at Fórum Fantástico 2010, where he talks about what exactly is steampunk, and reveals that the publishing rights one of his novels was actually ‘auctioned’ for by a couple of publishers, among other interesting topics.
There was special limited edition of the novel ‘The Court of the Air’ by Saída de Emergência, signed by the author, being sold at the event, at SdE’s stand. A regular edition will be pubished soon, so keep an eye out for it. I got mine at Fórum Fantástico, but haven’t been able to read it yet, as I was already reading ‘Boneshaker’ and ‘At the Dojo’, and only after those and ‘A Luz Miserável’, by David Soares (which was also launched at the event) will I pick it up.
But onward, to what’s important – the videos:
Fórum Fantástico 2010: Interview with Ricardo Pinto
This is the first of the last three sets of videos I made during Fórum Fantástico. This was an interviewm conducted by Rogério Ribeiro, with fantasy writer Ricardo Pinto, known for his The Stone Dance of the Chameleon trilogy. The author spoke (in Portuguese – these videos are also not in english) about various things. The topics ranged from what he remembered of Portugal before he left at the age of six to live in Scotland, to a mention Dungeons & Dragons (it’s very nice to see that a lot of the writers in the event had played D&D at some point of their lives), and lots more.
The other two sets of videos are of interviews with authors Stephen Hunt and Peter V. Brett. which will be posted this week, probably until Friday.
