Bigus Linkus

It’s linkage time here at Corusca! Some sites I either found on my own or friends recommended during the last few weeks and that I’m hooked to:

Creative closeup – merges two things I love: design and things that are geek. I’d also link posts I liked the most, but so far I’ve liked every single one of them.

Web Urbanist – blog about urban design, architecture and art among other things.

Web Ecoist – sister site to  Web Urbanist, this one’s about living ‘green’, ecology, tips on how to help the environment, and such.

Apartment Therapy – Decoration tips and such for your home.

Folding Trees – Paper crafting blog. Not just origami, but a ton of other crafty things involving paper.

That’s all for now!

Linkos Timeo!

Sharing some links of cool stuff I found in the last couple of days.

Gardening Mama screens. Lots of images from the upcoming Gardening Mama game. I miss playing Mama games, so even if gardening isn’t as cool as cooking (for me at least), I’m wanting to play this asap.

Remember Barack Obama’s ‘Hope’ poster? Well this is a list of several geek posters similar to that one. From R2, to Spock, to Cylons. Take a pick.

This next link probably isn’t safe for work. It’s a list Gizmodo put together of vibrating Valentine’s gifts. Bzzzz!

Wired made a hands-on article about BioWare’s new RPG, Dragon Age: Origins. I. Want. To. Play. It! Still several months away though. *sigh*

Had to mention this. Don’t divorce them. I’m getting married to my boyfriend in a few months and can’t see where the possibility for gay people to get married would diminish our boy-girl wedding in any way. Don’t be idiots, let people be happy with who they love.

Also coming from Wired is an article on the different uses for Twitter, other than simple micro blogging. Makes me want to write an article of my own on the applications of Twitter in the field of domotics.

And that’s all for now. have a pleasent day. Seems that it will be a sunny one if you are in the general Lisbon area here in Portugal. :)

Holiday Linkage!

Greetings, carbon-based bipeds! Got some cool links for ya.

60,000-Piece Lego Star Wars Hoth Diorama Features LEDs, Footprints -the docking bay with the Falcon in it is so very very cool.  /drool

Today’s Penny Arcade – I miss playing pen & paper Dungeons & Dragons. In fact, I miss having the time to do it. *sigh*

Buildings That Could Be Mistaken For Famous Spaceships – Portugal’s Pavilhão Atlântico is missing from there. It not only looks like Star Wars’ Imperial Senate, but also like a UFO.

While I’m on a sci-fi roll, check out this R2-D2 army dancing.

Also, I can’t avoid mentioning the death of Majel Barret, the voice of the Enterprise at age 76. RIP. :\

Oh, meantime people have asked me for clarification on my last post’s ‘Not having to run around doing favours for people during my very short vacations.’. I thought it was pretty self explanatory, but I’ll clarify. When I am vacationing, it’s common for people (who usually have more free time than myself all through the year), to call me and ask ‘you’re on vacations this week, aren’t you?’ and then proceed to ask me to go here or there to do something while they’re working. Although I usually don’t mind, and although it’s not even a matter of me feeling antisocial this year, I really have craploads of stuff to do of my own. Planning a wedding and making stuff for it takes a lot of time and patience. ;)
