The combat in a bit different, as are the abilities. They seem simplified, but maybe it was due to this being the beginning of the character’s leveling process. I guess I’ll have to wait to find out. You can still pause and do some strategic decisions, which seems fine. Also, maybe it was the fact that I played most of the demo in a high level of sleepiness, but I didn’t see dual wielding options, and the only ‘switch weapons’ chance I got was to go shord & shield. I hope this doesn’t mean I’ll have to leave my dual wielding ways.

Oh, and one of the first things you see is the character you can pick – and I for one absolutely loved the default  female warrior look. I’ll probably even play that when the game comes out (maybe tweaking the nose a bit ).

I was pleasantly surprised to see someone there. With an ‘extreme makeover’. I won’t spoil you. Go get the demo, and find out. If you download it you’ll be contributing to the chance that all us future proud owners of Dragon Age 2, get extra in-game items. All it takes is to reach 1 million downloads.

Only two weeks to go for Dragon Age to be out here in Europe! Pew pew!

João said part of it reminded him of Doctor Who, because of London being in ruins. I think that’s where the similarities end though.

Mass Effect 3 is supposed to come out in the Holiday season of 2011, which sounds fine by me – the first half of next year was getting crowded with nice games. For a moment there I thought the schedule might interfere with the still ‘shady’ launch date of Star Wars: The Old Republic, but then I remembered they’re both BioWare games, so it’s improbable.

Let’s just hope they don’t delay it to early 2012.

While I was browsing I found yet another quiz (no, don’t worry, I’m not turning this blog into one of those irritating ones where every other post there is some quiz result):

I think the result is about right for pen & paper RPG sessions. In fact, I remember once, in a Vampire: The Dark Ages session, I made my Malkavian (the crazy vampires clan, for those of you who are not familiar with VtDA) stare into some flames. This is bad because in VtDA vampires can’t stare at fire without going into Frenzy (which can be really bad – my character almost died due to some other consequence of the situation we were in). However, I was role-playing a very, very crazy vampire, so it made sense.

Computer RPGs are a whole different issue, though I still role play my character in single player games – in massive multiplayer games, I’m just me and want to improve my character’s stats. Speaking of which, I have to make a post about my new adventures in World of Warcraft, playing as a feral druid this time. My Paladin is enjoying a relaxed retirement from her times in Black Temple and Mount Hyjal and I will probably keep her that way.
